Thomas A. Glaze, CEO
Mr. Glaze has spent over 25 years in the biotechnology industry founding and managing companies in pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Prior to joining Receptor BioLogix, he founded Essentialis, Inc., a developer of obesity drugs, and Limerick NeuroSciences, Inc., established to dev-elop improved analgesics. Previously, he was founder and CEO for 11 years at Metabolex, Inc., a company focused on therapeutics to treat diabetes. In 1979, Mr. Glaze founded Monoclonal Antibodies, Inc., and served as its chairman and CEO until its merger with Quidel Corp. in 1991. In addition to being a board member of Receptor BioLogix, he also serves on the boards of Essentialis, Limerick, and BayBio. He is on the advisory boards of the Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience at Georgia Tech, and the Friday Harbor Labs of the University of Washington. Mr. Glaze holds an M.B.A. and an M.S. from Stanford University and a B.I.E. from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

H. Michael Shepard, Ph.D., Founder, President & CSO Dr. Shepard brings to Receptor BioLogix an extensive background in product research and therapeutics development. While at Genentech, he led the discovery and development of the breast cancer drug, Herceptin. Formerly, he was chief scientific officer and vice president of research at Canji Inc., where he developed the application of the p53 gene product for cancer treatment. Dr. Shepard was a Damon Runyon Fellow at Indiana University and holds a bachelor's degree from UCD, and a Ph.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington.

Jeff Himawan, Ph.D., Managing Director
Essex Woodlands Health Ventures
Dr. Himawan has more than 15 years of experience as a scientist, entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He has led investments and serves on the boards of Symphogen, Iomai, and MediciNova. Prior to joining Essex Woodlands, he was managing director and co-founder of Seed-One Ventures, where he managed the early corporate development of Elusys Therapeutics and Sensatex. Prior to Seed-One, he was a scientist in academic and industrial settings. He holds a B.S. in biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in biological chemistry and molecular pharmacology from Harvard University.

Somu Subramaniam
Managing Partner, New Science Ventures
Somu Subramaniam is the Managing Partner of New Science Ventures (NSV), which he co-founded in 2004. NSV focuses on science-based venture investments in biotechnology, medical device and semiconductor sectors, and manages over $100 million and nearly 20 portfolio companies. Mr. Subramaniam serves on several Board of Directors, including Therox, a company that has developed a focal hyperoxemic technology designed to treat ischemic myocardial tissue in heart attack patients; BioVex, a biotechnology company focused on the development of novel biologics for the treatment of cancer and infectious disease; and Achronix a fabless semiconductor company building the world’s fastest FPGAs. He also is an observer to the boards of Light Sciences Oncology, Xoft and BioProcessors. Prior to starting NSV, Somu was a Director of McKinsey & Co. and at various times led their Strategy Practice, BioTechnology Practice and HealthCare Practice. He also was a member of McKinsey's Investment Committee. Somu received his undergraduate degree from B.Tech. from IIT and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Alan C. Mendelson, (Corp. Secretary Only) Partner
Latham and Watkins Mr. Mendelson is the co-chair of the firm’s Venture and Technology Group. His 25 years of experience is primarily targeted toward the representation of emerging and public growth companies, especially those in the life sciences industry.
